Pâte-de-Verre Bowls

When I set out to create these bowls, I wanted to highlight beauty, fragility and sustainability. They are wafer-thin – delicate but strong. Their colours reflect the natural world, with sea shades and earth tones. They are made from recycled materials and without the use of moulds. I sand-cast them, and gild them with 22ct gold leaf after firing.

There are three collections, in a variety of styles and sizes.

Gilded Bowls

These bowls are available in several colours and are gilded with 22ct gold.

Organic Bowls

This collection is inspired by organic shapes and textures found in the sea. The scattered gilding reflects patterns seen in rocks, fish and the surface of water dappled with sunlight.

Gossamer Bowls

These ungilded bowls are translucent, allowing light through as if they were made of silk. Their aqua shades evoke sunlit tropical waters.
